Interviews

As part of investigations into leads, you will need to conduct interviews. Here are some tips:

  1. Call the person to be interviewed with some time in between and inform them about the upcoming interview. This allows the person to prepare.
  2. Send (e.g., via email) information about the location, date, and data protection guidelines.
  3. Conduct the interview with two people. One person asks the questions, and the other person takes notes.
  4. Avoid recording on a tape or video. Instead, document the results in a report, present it to the interviewee, and ask for confirmation or comments.
  5. Educate the person about their rights at the beginning of the interview.
  6. Ask open-ended questions and avoid leading the interviewee.
  7. Start with questions before sharing your own information.
  8. Upload all interview results to the case management system (visible only to the internal reporting office).
